Electromechanical Maintenance Technician
Location: Salisbury, NC
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay: $28.05-$33.66/hour, based on experience
Day-Shift Industrial Maintenance Opportunity
We are hiring an experienced Electromechanical Maintenance Technician to support a small metals manufacturing facility in Salisbury, NC.
This is a hands-on industrial maintenance role focused on troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, and maintaining production machinery and plant equipment. The ideal candidate has several years of manufacturing maintenance experience and is comfortable working with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
This is not an apartment, residential, or commercial building maintenance position. Candidates must have experience maintaining industrial production equipment.
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot and repair production machinery and plant equipment
- Diagnose electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems
- Work safely with industrial electrical systems up to 480V, three phase
- Troubleshoot motor controls, control circuits, sensors, and PLC-related equipment
- Repair and replace motors, drives, switches, relays, wiring, and electrical components
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled equipment repairs
- Install, upgrade, and commission new manufacturing equipment
- Test electrical circuits, components, boards, and repaired parts
- Perform calibrations and equipment adjustments using approved procedures
- Install electrical control circuits for motors, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems
- Read and update electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
- Use digital multimeters, meggers, oscilloscopes, amp probes, and other test equipment
- Enter work orders, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repair information into a CMMS
- Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend reliability improvements
- Maintain critical spare-parts inventory and coordinate outside repairs
- Order electrical parts, components, and maintenance supplies
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other maintenance technicians
- Support equipment installation and plant improvement projects
- Perform basic machining using an engine lathe or knee mill
- Perform MIG, TIG, or stick welding when needed
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas
Must-Have Qualifications
- Industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing production machinery
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience with preventive maintenance
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, motors, controls, and industrial equipment
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems from start to finish
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work safely around 480V, three-phase electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Two-year degree or certificate in electrical, electromechanical, electronics, or industrial maintenance
- Three or more years of industrial maintenance experience
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting
- Knowledge of motor control circuits
- CMMS experience
- Experience with industrial furnaces, melt equipment, or metals manufacturing
- Welding experience, including MIG, TIG, or stick
- Basic machining experience using mills or lathes
- Experience coordinating equipment installations
- Experience working with contractors and vendors
- Rigging and material-handling knowledge

Candidates should be comfortable using:
- Digital multimeters
- Voltage and ohm meters
- Meggers
- Oscilloscopes
- Amp probes
- Capacitance and inductance meters
- Electrical and electronic testing equipment
- Hand tools and power tools
- Welding equipment
- Engine lathes and knee mills
- Rigging and material-handling equipment
Schedule
- First shift
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Overtime, weekends, holidays, or alternate shifts may occasionally be required based on plant needs
Work Environment
This position works in an active industrial manufacturing facility. Employees may be exposed to:
- Moving mechanical equipment
- Electrical systems
- Heat, fumes, and airborne particles
- Chemicals
- Elevated work areas
- Moderate to loud noise
- Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
Candidates must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work around production machinery.
Career Progression
This facility is expanding its electromechanical maintenance team and offers multiple technician levels based on experience, technical ability, and performance.
Technicians may progress into higher-level positions by developing stronger troubleshooting skills, completing training requirements, demonstrating leadership, and gaining additional industrial maintenance experience.
