Storm Search is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner / Employee Relations professional to join a manufacturing organization in Meadville, PA. This position will serve as a key HR partner to plant leadership and employees, with a strong focus on employee relations, labor relations, union workforce support, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations.
The ideal candidate has hands-on HR experience supporting employees and leadership in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with a union workforce, Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs), grievances, and labor relations is highly preferred. Manufacturing experience is also strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with plant leadership on employee relations, labor relations, performance management, staffing, compensation, and other HR matters.
- Manage employee relations concerns, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, performance issues, and terminations.
- Support and administer Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) for a unionized workforce.
- Manage the grievance process and maintain effective communication between management and union representatives.
- Participate in contract negotiations and maintain documentation related to grievances, agreements, negotiations, and other labor matters.
- Provide guidance to employees and management regarding HR policies, work rules, employment laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Support recruiting and onboarding for hourly union employees and assist with salaried hiring as needed.
- Facilitate performance management, workforce planning, employee development, and organizational initiatives.
- Assist with employee benefits administration, billing, and payroll-related HR functions.
- Support HR compliance with federal, state, and local employment and labor laws.
- Partner cross-functionally to support consistent HR practices and organizational goals.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience required; 5+ years preferred.
- Previous union and/or labor relations experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements, grievances, employee investigations, disciplinary actions, or related employee relations matters strongly preferred.
- Human Resources experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; an Associate's degree with relevant experience may be considered.
- Working knowledge of employment law, labor law, and HR compliance requirements.
- Experience partnering with managers and leadership on employee-related matters.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms; UKG experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, judgment, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
