Field Service Technician Lead - Heat Exchangers

Location: Milwaukee, WI- Field Service

Responsibilities

  • Lead field technicians during equipment installation, commissioning, inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
  • Serve as the primary on-site customer contact and provide professional project updates
  • Assign daily work, coordinate crews, and provide technical guidance
  • Lead safety meetings and ensure OSHA, LOTO, PPE, JHA, and customer safety requirements are followed
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems
  • Diagnose and repair motors, VFDs, sensors, controls, pumps, bearings, gearboxes, and couplings
  • Perform equipment alignments and mechanical inspections
  • Service and commission air fin coolers, plate heat exchangers, shell & tube heat exchangers, and related industrial equipment
  • Read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation
  • Use multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters, and other diagnostic equipment
  • Complete digital service reports and recommend corrective actions
  • Train and mentor technicians while maintaining strong safety and quality standards

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial field service, industrial maintenance, or related technical experience
  • Previous crew lead or technical leadership experience preferred
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience with motors, VFDs, sensors, controls, pumps, bearings, and gearboxes
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs
  • Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with heat exchangers, air fin coolers, plate heat exchangers, or shell & tube equipment is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of LOTO and industrial electrical safety
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in industrial environments, climb/balance, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
