Maintenance Technician in Brown Deer, WI

Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift - Brown Deer, WI

  • Location: Brown Deer, WI
  • Shift: 3rd shift, 10pm-6am
  • Pay: $28-$38/hour
  • Sign-On Bonus: Up to $2,500

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Diagnose equipment issues by observing operations, listening for irregularities, and using precision measuring/testing instruments
  • Remove and replace defective components using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
  • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop equipment and basic machinist skills
  • Adjust functional parts and control instruments to manufacturer or company specifications
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with supervisors and technicians to minimize downtime
  • Operate equipment such as:
    • Electric carts
    • Forklifts
    • Articulating boom lifts
    • Manlifts

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong computer skills
  • Electrical knowledge; PLC experience is a plus
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills including:
    • Gearbox rebuilds
    • Belt replacement
    • Motor replacement
    • Conveyor system experience
    • Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge
    • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
    • Plumbing experience
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English
    • Ability to safely perform all job duties

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED/HSED equivalent required
  • 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred
  • Manufacturing environment experience is a plus
